SolCAP Extension
SolCAP has created a web community and eXtension Community of Practice (CoP) that fosters cross-disciplinary and cross-commodity networking and outreach (Plant Breeding and Genomics Community of Practice, PBGCoP). This CoP is an organization within the eXtension.org website through which plant breeders, basic scientists, seed industry professionals, agricultural professionals, extension specialists and others can publish content and network. The collaborative workspace is called PBGworks and it was developed using open source software.
Our long-term goal is to provide:
- Start-to-finish examples of marker-assisted selection applications
- Resource pages including protocols, software tutorials, and up-to-date contact information for companies offering genetic services
- Improved access to genetic resources through the "breeder's toolbox"
